Admission Fees


All fees are per animal admitted, unless indicated. All prices include tax. If your animal has any identification, such as a tattoo or microchip, either: 


  • The ID must trace to the admitter, or
  • The animals owner, to whom the ID traces to, must provide either verbal or written consent for the admitter surrendering the animal on their behalf


Failure to provide this information will result in a non-refundable 4 day boarding fee charge per animal, in addition to the admission fee, to allow the Lloydminster and District SPCA time to trace the identification. Boarding fees are $20/day/animal.

 

Dog or Cat Admission Fees

Regular Admission Fee$100
To be eligible for this fee, your dog or cat must meet all of the following requirements:


  • Be previously spayed or neutered, a spay certificate from a licensed Veterinarian must be provided at the time of admission 
  • Have no outstanding medical concerns, including dental, veterinarian medical records must be provided
  • Microchip or tattoo must traced to admitter or provide a record to verify transfer of ownership
  • Cats must have no previous history of housesoiling (not using the litterbox)
  • Be over 6 months, but less than 8 years old


Special Needs Admission Fee $150

Applies to a dog or cat that does not meet all of the regular admission fee requirements.


Litters (Puppy or Kitten) Admission Fees


One or more puppies/kittens (8 weeks - 3 months old) No Charge

To be eligible for this fee, the following conditions apply:


  • Admitter must not have previously surrendered a litter to the Lloydminster and District SPCA
  • Kittens must be over 800g
  • Puppies or kittens must have no outstanding medical concerns
  • Puppies or kittens must be from the same litter
  • If the admitter has previously surrendered a litter a $60 admission fee for every two animals will apply


One or two puppies or kittens (3-6 months old) $75

To be eligible for this fee, the following conditions apply:


  • Puppies or kittens must have no outstanding medical concerns


One or more puppies or kittens (under 8 weeks or with outstanding medical concerns) $110


Rabbit Admission Fee


Regular Admission Fee  $25

To be eligible for this fee, your rabbit must meet all of the following requirements:


  • Be previously spayed or neutered, a spay certificate from a licensed Veterinarian must be provided at the time of admission 
  • Have no outstanding medical concerns, veterinarian medical records must be provided
  • Have no behaviour concerns, including, but not limited to biting, aggression or nervousness (unable to hold or handle)


Special Needs/Shelter Capacity Admission Fee$50

Fee Applies:

  • To a rabbit that does not meet all of the regular admission fee requirements, or
  • When the SPCA has limited space and resources to house a rabbit


Guinea Pig Admission Fee                                                                                                           


Regular Admission Fee $15

To be eligible for this fee, your guinea pig must meet all of the following requirements:


  • Have no outstanding medical concerns
  • Have no behaviour concerns, including, but not limited to biting, aggression or nervousness (unable to hold or handle)


Special Needs/Shelter Capacity Admission Fee $25

Fee Applies:


  • To a guinea pig that does not meet all of the regular admission fee requirements, or
  • When the SPCA has limited space and resources to house a guinea pig

The Lloydminster and District SPCA is open 7 days a week for admissions from:


11 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday

11 am - 5 pm, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays


We are closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day
